1. Our cat in a cage is getting better and showing no outward signs of depression.
2. I withdrew my offer on the house that contained an Electrical Sub-station in the garden and felt immediately better.
3. I reassured my 6 year old that he hadn’t started growing pubic hair, it was merely fluff from his new tracksuit bottoms.
4. I finished the most amazing book called “Half Of A Yellow Sun” by Chimanmanda Ngozi Adichie, all about the civil war in Nigeria during the 1960’s. Biafra declared itself independent on May 30 1967, but lacked the resources to survive. Millions died during that three year period, either killed during the fighting or because of starvation, before they surrendered. Her novel charts the struggle through the eyes of three very different characters. It was moving, fascinating, informed and beautifully written. Highly recommended.
5. I survived teaching my first class of teenager boys how to stretch their muscles and my son is still speaking to me.
6. I was taken out for dinner by a lovely man – who presented me with flowers at the door!!! I couldn’t believe it, nobody has done that since I was about 17.
