Home again. Disappointingly I’ve managed to peak too early. I’ve now got the prospect of the rest of the summer stretching ahead of me with no other plans. I’m not going anywhere else. My children are going to be doing some other stuff and will be spending a week of their summer with their father – although given his very expensive honeymoon I’m not sure they will be going very far.
I’m not sure I agree with the concept of a honeymoon “a deux” second time around. There are a lot of children involved who are all having to get used to a new world order and I would have thought it would have been much better to have taken all the kids with them (easy for me to say). Or am I wrong? What exactly is the purpose of a honeymoon (other than to recover from the exhaustion of the wedding) and does the concept of it still work in this modern age? I think I’d take my children with me….which probably explains the lack of wedding proposals thus far.
ANYWAY. We have Just had the most lovely holiday. All the kids are very happy and smiley. We managed to get all 9 of us safely back home all pretty much in one piece – although when going through the airport, passport control, security checks and coaches to the plane it really wouldn’t be difficult to lose one or two along the way. Builder Bloke was the only one who managed to sustain an injury (other than sore eyes and ears from too much swimming and sore limbs from hanging on to Banana Boats etc) whilst away – his son managed to give him a suspected broken nose by elbowing him whilst running away from a wave. It is now black and blue. He keeps asking if I think it’s broken but it’s hard to tell – it’s quite lumpy, but I think it was like that before.

This photograph just about sums it all up. Many happy kids, beautiful views, food, times and we are all just loving it:-
On our fishing trip, with the subtle help of BB my youngest son caught a mackeral so he was very happy and then threw it back in so I was happy too.

I am pleased to report that we are all still alive. Just busy, having too much fun and only remote internet access available. Somehow, I have managed to exaggerate the number of kids we are responsible for – we have 7 with us. Not 10! I was obviously going for the [...]

Builder bloke and I are about to meet in order to merge a ridiculous number of children together. Ten in total. For a week. Whilst our respective X’s fly off to St lucia on their honeymoon.
I’m not remotely jealous bizarrely. I can’t wait for all that lovely, noisy, messy chaos.
Such a privilege.

I just have to tell you about Alain Ryon and his new restaurant, Bistr’eau Ryon. This is mainly because the friends I was staying with in France last week are very, very good friends of his – but also because he and his wife have found one of the best locations ever to open [...]

Recently I was invited to a John Lewis bloggers event. I am a big fan of John Lewis. I like their ethos and the fact that I can buy everything I need in one go. It was to present their early Christmas wares. They put on a good show. [...]

A very good friend of mine has started an internal blog at work. I read it today and his last comment was:-
“Oh yes and finally I think that being in love absolutely means you should say you’re sorry”.
Well, that has got me thinking.
Is that true?
How good are we at saying sorry?
I am [...]
