They say things happen for a reason. Well. Explain this one then. I have been invited to “Walt Disney World, Orlando” to join seven other bloggers for a 5 day “Magical trip”.
This is too weird for words. I know I have been threatening to leave the country in order to go and sit on top of a mountain to think, but “Space Mountain”? What are my children going to say?
I can’t understand why I’ve been invited. I’m flattered. Obviously. But I really don’t think that I’m the right person for the job. I don’t do rides as a rule.
We are all going to be wandering about wearing paper bags over our heads with Mickey Mouse ears attached in order to protect our anonymity.
My children will think I’ve lost the plot completely and that I am making the whole thing up.
Do you think it’s because they want to see if anonymous bloggers have one large eye and curvature of the spine from too much staring at a screen? Maybe it will be a bit like “Bloggers Vs Aliens” on tour.
Maybe it’s all a trick and I’m going to be kidnapped by Disney Fundamentalists and never be seen again.
Maybe I really am going mad and I’m hallucinating or maybe I’ll go mad when I get there and lock myself into “It’s A Small World” and refuse to come out.
Or maybe they’re just feeling sorry for me.
I’m really looking forward to meeting some fellow bloggers though.
What has happened to my life?

I found going to Disneyland in Paris was tough enough with my own kids who loved it but going with strangers would be a step too far for me. At least Eurodisney’s just up the road from me – Orlando will be expensive in air travel and accommodation etc.

Go! It’s a chance to escape life and move into “Walt Disney World” for a few days. A ride on the Tower of Terror will put everything in perspective!

Hello, just wanted to say I hope we all have a brilliant time and I hereby promise not to ‘out’ you – I think it may be 50-50 as to people being anonymous or not. Like you, my children are old enough to take in what their mum’s doing without them and they’re not over impressed but as they were on a school trip last week and that included EuroDisney, they can lump it’ bless ‘em. I am SO outed there’s no going back so I will be the normal one without the ears pointing my camera at you lot and cackling like a maniac when you all wince and duck behind large cartoon characters!! (no, don’t panic, SOUL of discretion, me!)…
