My daughter has had to go back to school today, but I still have my other two children on holiday for the rest of the week. My teenage son is in bed (obviously), whilst my 8 year old son has decided he doesn’t want to do rugby again today as planned. “It was really hard work” he said as he came in yesterday, “we did loads of laps and I got really tired and to be honest the only reason I wanted to do it was to get a mouthguard and I’ve got that now”. Not sure he’s demonstrating the sort of level of commitment required to continue…
Great. Now I’m going to have to go and see High School Musical 3 instead.

I’ve missed out on that, thanks to Sally’s growing independence. I took her to the cinema today, and waited while she and her friend got their tickets and then walked them to the door of the the screen. ‘You’re not watching it with us, are you daddy?’ wasn’t really a question.
