BIDDING WAR?

BLOG

I have SO much to do. In addition to all the usual stuff, the event that I’ve been working on for the past six months is coming to fruition and THERE’S ONLY A WEEK TO GO AND I’M FREAKING OUT ABOUT HOW MUCH THERE IS TO DO.

My son is going on a rugby tour to South Africa in the summer. The last time his school toured there they raised some money for an African school and went to visit the children there. I offered to help do the same this time as I think it’s the most important part of the visit. We decided on an auction and a core group of us have now been working on the project for some time. Next Friday we are hosting an Auction of Promises evening at his school and getting all the boys to work as waiters for the evening.

We have been given some amazing prizes. I am both nervous and excited. There is a huge amount to do. We have a whole room to decorate in African style, drinks, food, speeches, auctioneers, music, bla, bla to sort. It’s going to be a busy week.

One of the women helping out is a doctor. She has offered several different prizes. The best one though is “A course of HPV Immunisation (cervical cancer/genital warts protection)”. I am not sure that there is going to be a bidding war when the auctioneer suddenly starts “and shall we start the bidding off for genital warts at say £100? Anybody else have a higher bid for genital wart treatment?

Perhaps that prize will need to go into the silent auction.
