Sadly, I missed out on Glastenbury tickets AGAIN this year. I am determined to get there eventually even if my children disown me.
A friend was recently discussing the latest major music festival to hit the scene. A group of us decided that maybe next year we should go – just to really annoy our children….it sounded edgy and uber cool and it was where Lily Allen and The Arctic Monkey’s were playing at the time of the discussion.
She told us that it was new and that it was in Siberia.
In fact, I have since discovered that it is 10 years old and in Serbia.
Which makes me feel a little bit old frankly, because we simply no longer have a clue what is going on. I can just see the headlines now:- “eight middle age women last seen wandering around Siberia in inappropriate clothing (mini skirts and biker boots/Wellingtons) looking for a non-existent 3 day festival are thought to have frozen to death trying to find it”.
PS: As a separate aside I have just found out how to double the number of male readers to your blog and it is not looking good….you have to write a blog post on “sheds”. Oh dear.

It's supposed to be really good. The pics are amazing. I've been trying to get down there for ages, but there's a distinct lack of interest up this neck of the woods

Siberia just doesn't seem like quite the right location for a festival … Gulag yes, festival no

On the other hand, isn't it great that there are so many re-vamped 80's songs out there at the moment. At the No Doubt (oh, yes) concert the other night they played Adam Ant's "Stand and Deliver" and I was about the only one in a hundred row radius who knew all the words.
