Yeah, witnessed a party of that sort once, while my then future husband’s parents were in the UK. And it wasn’t even Facebook then! His sister invited her friends over, but it got out of control very quickly. A ton of teenagers, most of whom she didn’t know, filled the house, booze was being delivered to the door, all the plants died from the smoke, and the glass wall in the kitchen got smashed in. But it all pales in comparison to your story. Teenagers do like destroying things, I remember my guy friends doing stupid stuff that we thought was very funny, but with an expensive house like that, the stakes go way up. I wonder whether the host got a whooping of his life. Anyway, it’s the alcohol, of course. Can’t believe the parents though – do they not pay attention to what is going on in the youth culture these days? Too busy making money, I guess. Well, at least they can pay for the renovation.

That sort of story scares me – with Facebook and so on, how much easier is it to over invite for kids these days … going to have to lock my pair up when they get to be big enough
