HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

BLOG, KIDS

It is my youngest child’s birthday today. I CANNOT believe he is 9 years old. Time. Where does it go.

It only seems like yesterday that I was trying to give birth to the largest baby in the world (over 101bs). I don’t think I’ve every quite recovered from the experience.

He’s had a lovely morning so far. We did a very early breakfast with croissant and brioche and even my teenage son managed to extract himself from his bed for the (present) opening ceremony (resplendent with blanket over head and repeating “HURRY UP, I really have to go back to bed”, but nevertheless at least he was there). His dad came over too and brought his new bicycle we decided to buy him. It’s HUUUGE.

We also surprised him by turning my very packed and disorganised shed into a den for him with chairs and a rug and stuff, which will hopefully be a good place for him to hang out, given his room is “the size of a meatball” (quote taken from my young niece – but good description of how small it is).

Anyway, I thought I’d add his trumpet practice, given that the tune was so apt for today. Sorry about the angle – you get to see the cat litter tray, the bin AND lots of empty bottles. Not good – the other video is funnier because half way through he got his fingers wedged in the valves but he was playing a rather alternative version of “God Save The Queen”:-

Great video, reminds me of my own cornet rendition of 'Happy Birthday' at my gran's 80th, just as well they were all deaf really.
