Following on from my previous post about Cliff Richard and The Shadows current world tour, here I am continuing with my campaign to help take their new single to No.1 in the UK charts.
Personally I think it would make the perfect Christmas No.1 – much better than “Mistletoe and Wine” because although that ballad had specific lyrics designed for Christmas – you know, “mistletoe, wine, logs, children, fires, singing, gifts, trees, rejoicing etc” I personally think that their new single entitled “Singing The Blues” is far more relevant to Christmas for most people.
It could be argued that it represents the complication of Christmas in a very catchy can’t-help-but-sing-along-and-dance-and-therefore-might-as-well-get-pissed-and-eat-too-much-and-have-a-wonderful-time-with-friends-and-family-and-forget-about-all-your-problems kind of tunes.
Here is some rather dodgy video footage taken from the Wembley concert – it gives you the general idea – download the single immediately – or I suppose, if I was still working for a record company I’d have to suggest that you go out and buy the CD single immediately.
