HP sauce have been in touch to let me know about their connection with Movember and it's great - they are releasing a limited edition bottle to raise awareness and much needed funding for men's health with Movember. The new label will be without Britain’s famous Houses of Parliament, making way instead for a top-hat clad British gent with an inspirational moustache. In conjunction with the release of their new look bottle, HP is giving Mo Bros across the UK the chance to celebrate and share their top Mo-moments on Facebook www.facebook.com/hpsauceuk - the most enthusiastic Mo Bro stands the chance of becoming the Gentlemanly Face of HP Movember, claiming £5,000 towards their Movember fund and a VIP trip for themselves and three friends to London. Throughout the month of Movember the HP Facebook page will also host a series of competitions and challenges aimed to Mo’tivate men and bring the Movember spirit to life. HP teams and individuals can have fun and embrace the experience, from bacon buttie adventures to celebrity inspired Mos, and then upload their most Mo-tastic photos to HP’s Facebook page – the best images will receive contributions towards their Mo funds. Mo Sistas can also get involved and support their Mo Bros – The People’s Choice Award for the best HP Mo Bro will be presented to the Bro who has receives the most ‘likes’ over the course of the month’s challenges. Registered Mo Bros & Sistas can get involved by visiting the HP Facebook page on www.facebook.com/hpsauceuk and find out more about Movember at www.movember.com

How are you all getting on?? My teenage son is looking forward to visiting a nearby pub who are offering a free pint for everyone involved in growing a moustache for November month - I'm not really sure he'll get away with it though - I've taken a photograph so that you can see the problem he might have - it's a little bit bum fluffy ("no offence" - as my daughter would say to cover anything bloody rude that comes out of her mouth).....we may need to add a bit of dye to it or mascara before he turns up so that they don't have to use a magnifying glass or worse still turn him away...:- Whereas on the other hand, here is my brother's splendid effort thus far. Now he has two more weeks to start developing the handlebars:- Gosh. Don't their nostrils look huge taken out of context....So. Let me see your efforts? Otherwise the donation I'm offering is going to one of my family members to add to the charity. Photos please (nostrils included - it's funnier).

GET GROWING THAT FACIAL HAIR - I've started - there really is no excuse. For this month - formerly known as November, men (and women??) will start to sprout and sport splendid moustaches. This is all for a very good cause - check it all out here:- http://uk.movember.com/about. It is to raise much needed funds and awareness for men's health - especially prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. I have been thinking about my father hugely of late and no more so than today - the first day of Movember. He died almost exactly a year ago now from bowel cancer and we have all recently agreed that not having him around seems to be getting harder, not easier and we are all missing him hugely. He had one of the most splendid moustaches so this month will be hard. We all keep seeing similarities in other people .... SO why not turn a sad situation into something more positive. Could you please send in photos of your moustaches from around the world and at the end of the month we will pick a winner. I promise to give generously to the charity for the best moustache - I want your stories of where your hair growth takes you, who you meet and general updates over the month too. Let the battle begin. Ready, steady, GROW.... Here, in honour of my father and just to start things off is his effort. Beat that:-

HUGH GRANT SUPPORTS MOVEMBER

In honour of my father - who has had the most splendid moustache for the entire time I've known him, I am adding another post about Movember. I am going to have to change Builder Bloke's name to "Moustache Man". He's doing SUCH a good job of growing his top lip hair and collecting money off anybody who laughs at him. It's only been 9 days and he already looks ridiculous. He's been sending me pictures. I can't imagine what he is going to look like by the end of the month - it will be a huge handlebar moustache by then. Anyway, last night, as we were all here in our tiny microcosm of life sitting with my father, Builder Bloke was out having dinner with some mates. LOOK WHO HE BUMPED INTO!!! (apologies for worst photo ever) Hugh Grant apparently did a double take at his moustache and they got talking - BB apologised for looking like a twat but explained that he was raising money for charity and Hugh gave him £20!! He's already collected almost £100. What's more he's raised the bar. A photograph of a moustache and an A list celebrity. Now he's going to have to try and get photographed with the queen! Come on then all you Movemberers out there - start getting your moustache taken with a celebrity and we'll see how many we can accumulate in the time frame.
