David Attenborough says we are all losing touch with nature. He might be right. However, I am currently obsessed with my local park. The colours are just so beautiful at this time of year. Here are two more pictures that I took today on my phone especially for my lovely friend in Australia who is coming over soon to walk with me again. Yippee:- Journey to school this morning whereby I forced my daughter to take a photo out of the car window and she moaned at the thought of anyone seeing her or being late for school:- Low lying mist across the trees:-

WHITE FEATHERS

It's odd. When I was dealing with all the stress surrounding my break up with Builder Bloke and was trying to work out what to do there were white feather signs all over the place. Carnage sort of white feather moments. Big mounds of white feathers here, there and everywhere and stuck on clothes, hair, bags - it was as if my father was trying to shout out advice..... Since then, things have calmed down and I've barely seen a white feather. Is that because I'm not looking so hard for fatherly advice from wherever he is? Do we always just see what we want to see? I was mulling over these ideas just yesterday whilst doing my regular Monday morning walk in the park and came across an unexpected sight - a swan in the pond that belongs to the heron - I've never seen a swan in that pond before (and now I'm beginning to sound like an old person) but anyway - suddenly there was the biggest white feather moment imaginable:- Looks rather like a meringue:- There it is! There's the feather! You want it? Come and get it:-

A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER

I attempted to go for a quick run in the park yesterday simply because the weather was so warm and balmy. I massively failed on my mission by deciding that what I really really needed much more than a run was a sausage baguette and a coffee. Walked and took pictures instead. Much better:- This morning the change in the weather couldn't have been more significant. The temperature must have dropped by 10 degrees at least. Here was my depressing view of my son's football game this morning. Bleak:-

THE RUTTING SEASON

Took this picture this morning on my walk. Just beautiful if not a little scary. Unexpectedly found myself in the middle of a foursome ....four stags all battling away for their posse:- Although my vote would have to go with the one below - not only are his antlers a little bigger, he smiled for the camera!
