We all had a lovely time together for my father’s 70th birthday celebrations although sadly he wasn’t able to join us for both evenings as it was all a bit too much for him after his recent operation. Must have been a nightmare for him to have to sit through a meal listening to us get more and more slurry as he can’t yet drink. But still. Apart from that it was just lovely that we could all be together.
My chef of a ten year old son made him a fantastic cake (although it got a little bit squashed in transition):-

We stayed at the most lovely place in The New Forest – a beautiful country house hotel called Whitley Ridge which worked really well for all of us – we stayed in a self-catering apartment in the grounds:-
