DIVORCE

I’m going to write about this in greater detail when I find a moment but I thought “women mourn and men replace” was a very interesting statement and I’d like to know what you think.

Certainly, it seems very clear to me that divorced men do not like to be on their own.  They get snapped up very quickly by an available woman and I think it is probably true to say that they look for a replacement.  An older friend of mine made the above statement and in my case, it is absolutely spot on.

I think this is very true and not just about divorced men or women.
My godmother lost her husband over 25 years ago and its only in the last few years that she has sought out male company but she is currently single and living on her own.
My dad on the other hand who lost my mother 7 years ago was in a relationship (with both myself and my brothers blessing!) within 6 months of her passing. It didn’t last long but he has flitted from relationships since and is (I think) settling down at last (but possibly not).
But then again I think that if you were the injured party in the divorce after partner had affair I think you would mourn less!!

I think I agree with this. My dad died when my mother was 43 and she has never re-married. Not that she hasn’t gone out with men, but a lot of them were recently widowed or divorced and took things far too quickly. It seemed like they wanted a partner – any partner.
