I went to a very interesting Social Media seminar the other day. There were a number of speakers from different agencies all seemingly saying the same thing about the future of social media engagement and currently the main message appears to be that IT’S GOOD NEWS FOR BLOGGERS!! Seriously, the […]

A friend lent me a book all about mapping social behaviour which I thought might help me understand the rise of social networking entitled “I’ll Have What She’s Having” (taken from the brilliant scene in “When Harry Met Sally”) by Alex Bentley, Mark Earls and Michael O’Brien. I had hoped […]

Only a few days left and I’ve been canvassing my two friends very hard to vote for me…..they keep looking puzzled about why I’m up for a travel award in the first place and I slightly agree with them. HOWEVER. My friend in travel PR says that the horizon looks very different these days in travel journalism. It’s not all about reviews and magazine articles it is about the experience and the “trusted voice”. Social media continues it’s powerful hold on us as social beings and in fact, a friend has just leant me a book called “I’ll Have What She’s Having” which analyses new ways of marketing and social interaction and influence and why individuals like learning (and copying) from each other.
As I’m unable to go on the blog trip next month to American (owing to daughter’s exams which I may well never get over) and can’t get away much (although I forgot I am going somewhere very soon for the weekend!!) I’m trying to do a few posts about your favourite cup of coffee or tea (don’t worry the next one will be alcohol based) so that we can all share some experiences.
So if you don’t mind – i’d really appreciate it you let me have your favourite cup of tea story and if you can’t be bothered, then maybe just your vote!
To vote for me you just need to click on the link below and then scroll down to the number 10 category in the “GO” shortlist and my entry is under Family Affairs and Other Matters:-
